EDR's Have Faith or 'Homer' has successfully completed his two weeks training at Curragh and returns home today as a champion showjumper. He will be missed, but his departure means that Curragh is once again open for training applications. If you are interested in dedicated one-to-one training for your horse, including competing then please email kat.curragh@gmail.com to discuss an individually tailored training package. We can train horses up to the top levels of Jumping and Racing and make sure they fulfill challenges even beyond those.
We have also had a few new arrivals. Curragh Stud recently bought the beautiful MSE's Critical Acclaim from the Akhal-Teke breeders and registry, Morning Star Equestrian. She has given us two gorgeous foals: CS High Flyer, a bright, red-bay filly by CS Osprey; and CS Red Prince, a coppery chestnut colt by Curragh King. Both will be made available on request, so please check our sales page for more details.

Rupert, real pony now in my game!
I share a pony in the real world, and he's a Connemara-type pony called Rupert. I decided to make him and put him in my game the other day and I am really proud of the way he's turned out!
His traits in game are: Agile, Piggy and Playful because he's a greedy, cheeky little chap but he is awesome at both dressage and jumping. I placed him with a family in game and it was really cute watching him roll in the dirt, stuff his face full of hay and prance around just like the real Rupert does. I want to try to register him with DC Stables Connemara registry and get him up on my Sales page for adoption. He'd be a really fun and cute addition to anyone's game.

Updated Registry, About, Breeding and Sales pages
I have updated the above pages to make things clearer and to add new information. I have upgraded several horses on the Register and added a new horse, CS Apollo, to the Sales page.
Please have a look at the updates pages and get in touch about any sales or breeding requests. I don't currently have space for any training liveries as I am currently training EDR's Have Faith, and I can only take on one horse at a time. The email for all inquiries is kat.curragh@gmail.com
Thank you!

Our new filly foal - CS High Flyer (Flora)
We recently bred our newly acquired Akhal-Teke mare, MSE's Critical Acclaim, with CS Osprey. Their beautiful foal has just been born and she is gorgeous! She has inherited her mother's metallic red-bay coat and it looks like she will be Fast and Athletic from all the running around she enjoys.

EDR's Have Faith (Homer) begins his training at Curragh
Christina at Edinburg Dream Ranch has sent one of her stallions, 'Homer', for showjumping training. He arrived last night and has settled in well. Thanks to his 'Genius' trait he is progressing easily.
Here are some pictures of Homer at Curragh:
Homer was a bit shy when he arrived so I spent some time grooming him and found him a yummy treat -
As Homer is an Agile horse he picked up the Jumping skill very quickly and won a Beginner Showjumping competition on his first time out -
Moving on to more advanced jumps -
Keep checking back for more updates of Homer's progress!

Registration Certificates are now available
Computers and photo/picture editing are not my strong point but we now have smart certificates available to the owners of all registered horses. Full credit for the template used to create the certificates goes to the girls at Equus-sims.com, who are much better at these things than I will ever be!
Here is a picture of Curragh King's certificate:
If you are interested in booking a breeding or registering a horse with us, please email kat.curragh@gmail.com.
Equus-Sims is a fantastic site, which inspired me to create this stud and registry. They have their own Arabian and Hanoverian studs and registries at the Lawrence Equestrian Centre, as well as hosting competitions and TS3:Pets resources. If you haven't visited them yet I strongly recommend that you do!
Legal Disclaimer: I do not own or claim to own the Irish Sport Horse logo featured on my certificates! These certificates are not a legal document and are for role-playing purposes only. Curragh Stud and the registry are not real and are not affiliated with the real Irish Sport Horse Studbook or Horse Sport Ireland.

Sales
Sales, Breeding and Training pages are now up! Please have a look at everything Curragh Stud has to offer.
Sadly we cannot keep all the horses we breed or train. Curragh Stud often has a small selection of horses for sale or lease which will be listed here. Many will either be registered or eligible to apply to the register. If you wish to inquire about any of our sales horses please contact kat.curragh@gmail.com with 'Sales' in the title.
Free Spirit, Not Approved
Freya is currently on sales livery at Curragh. Intelligent and bold with plenty of scope, she is by Clover Hero (ID) out of the Selle Francais mare, Jolie Coeur. Has bred a lovely foal, CS Kestrel and may be eligible to be upgraded in the future depending on her competition or breeding record.
Sea King, Not Approved
Curragh Stud is pleased to act as the agent for the sale of this upcoming international Sport Horse. Sea King, (Clover Lord (ID) x Delphine (TBxSF)), known as 'Harry' is a real character who loves to make a lot of noise. His groom likes to joke that he's boasting about all his Showjumping exploits and chatting up the mares. Pending approval based on further competition results.
NB: These horses are currently blank canvases in terms of skills etc, but they were essential in my breeding programme. We'll have to wait until Pets is released before I can offer horses with real skills and competition records.
I will either email a copy of the horse to the 'buyer' or make it available on the TS3 Exchange for a limited period. If you 'buy' a horse you must credit Curragh Stud when you use it and update me if you breed from it or compete it so that I can update the register if necessary. It takes a lot of effort to create these horses and this site, so please honour the spirit of all the Breed Registries and don't copy or distribute any of our horses without permission or due credit. Thank you.

Introducing our horses
Curragh Stud is pleased to introduce two of its horses; Curragh King and Curragh Star.
Curragh King is one of our founding stallions. He is an athletic horse by Runaway (TB) out of Clover Lace (ID). The Curragh Stud has crossbred Thoroughbreds with Irish Draughts from the famous Clover Hill lines to produce power and athleticism with a trainable temperament.
Curragh Star is Curragh King's daughter out of the TBxID mare Celestial (Starscape x Clover Lady). She has produced a fantastic colt, CS Osprey, by the sports horse Sea King (Clover Lord (ID) x Delphine (TBxSelle Francais)).
Coming soon: more detailed profiles of our horses, a history of the stud and look at our breeding programme.

Welcome to Curragh Stud
The Curragh Stud aims to celebrate the ultimate performance horse by hosting the Irish Sport Horse Studbook. Based in the rolling farmland of Riverview this historic stud is home to breeding and producing the best showjumpers and eventers.
The Irish Sport Horse must be: "a functionally correct model of balanced proportions that is conducive to high performance at International level in FEI disciplines...The horse should have a good temperament, be rideable, intelligent and willing to perform. Irish Sport Horses should have courage, be careful when jumping and have good technique and scope." Unlike 'pure' breeds with a strict breed standard, the studbook accepts entries from various breeds provided that the individual horse meets strict performance standards. For example, a foreign warmblood stallion might be entered to the registry provided it has good a good general conformation, strong clean bone and has a proven record jumping or eventing at international level. Any natural solid colour is acceptable.
Basic Objectives of Selection: To produce a performance horse that is sound, athletic with good paces and suitable temperament and capable of wining at the highest International level in Showjumping and Cross Country. Horses presented for registration should have an excellent temperament, high skills and good competition record. Ideally Irish Sport Horses should have at least two of the following traits: Agile, Brave, Fast, Friendly, Genius, Obedient. Horses that are Aggressive, Hate Jumping, Lazy, Nervous, Ornery or Untrained might not be approved.
Horses eligible for registration:
-Irish Sport Horses descended from ISH parents already registered.
-Part-bred horses with one ISH parent. Such horses must demonstrate a high performance record. Either they or their parent must have competed at International Showjumping or Eventing. Mares registered in this category should have produced two high performance offspring if they do not have a sufficient competition record.
-Registered Irish Draught horses, Thoroughbreds and Anglo-Arabs may be registered provided they have a suitable temperament and a good competition record at National level or above, or have produced at least two offspring with sufficient competition records.
-Registered Warmbloods eg. Hannovarian, Holsteiner, Selle Francais etc that have either themselves competed successfully at International competition level or have produced at least two offspring that have done so.
Owners may present horses for approval based on the above specifications. If it is judged that a horse does not meet the requirements for full registration it may be registered as 'Not Approved'. However, the horse and any of its offspring may be upgraded to 'Approved' status when they are re-presented provided they show a consistent competition record and good temperament.
As the registration specifications for the Irish Sport Horse are heavily weighted on performance, entries may be made provisionally and can be subsequently upgraded. Please note that as the Equestrian Manager at Curragh Stud is based in the UK, the official opening will be after the 21st.
